Missions & Outreach

The Johns Island Presbyterian Church Family, through the Missions & Outreach Committee, joyfully serves ministries both locally and worldwide. A special emphasis is placed on growing in Christian fellowship with our neighboring brothers and sisters in Christ on the surrounding islands through a number of outreach programs.

JIPC actively participates in the following local missions:

Feeding of the Multitude: An annual event which takes place the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Volunteers from 30 churches on Johns and Wadmalaw Islands prepare and serve nearly 2,000 Thanksgiving dinners.

HALOS: Helping And Lending Outreach Support provides resources & special opportunities to abused & neglected children & their caregivers.

Presbyterian Village of Summerville: A compassionate Christian ministry dedicated To enriching The quality of life for seniors of all faiths.

Charleston Habitat for Humanity: A locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. This nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization partners with individuals in need to build decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold, interest-free, to qualified families at no profit.

Lowcountry Pregnancy Center: A Christian based, non-profit organization, which focuses on offering alternatives to abortion, as well as compassionate Christian counseling to those who face pregnancy and pregnancy related issues.

ASAP: After School Arts Program is a dedicated group of qualified musicians who volunteer their time in order to provide an opportunity to make music lessons accessible and affordable to students who would not otherwise study music

Hands of Christ: A ministry which provides school uniforms, clothing, supplies, and bibles (for those who want them) to school children ranging from pre-K to 8th grade.

Our church family also supports the following missions and organizations:

Thornwell School for Children
